DPAS Email

August 12, 2009

Dear Clients,

DPAS would like to inform employers and their employees as to the proposed changes to Flexible Spending Accounts currently being considered by Congress.

As you may know, Congress is currently considering eliminating or capping the tax deduction on FSAs in order to raise revenue (68 billion over 10 years) to help pay for healthcare reform.

DPAS would like to encourage you and your employees to contact your legislators and make them aware of the importance of FSAs and why both employers and employees rely upon them. Please tell Senators Lincoln and Pryor that you, their constituents, use your FSA to keep your healthcare costs, including doctor visit and drug co-pays, affordable.

Please call, write, and visit with your Congressmen to urge them to keep President Obama’s promise of not taxing your employer-provided health insurance. Explain that a cap on medical expenditures is a huge tax on the middle class.

DataPath is working with Save My Flex Plan (www.savemyflexplan.org) to inform Arkansas’ Senators about the importance of FSAs and why employers and employees rely on them.

For further information on the proposed changes, please contact either James Cheek or Robert Coon (partner at an advocacy group located in Little Rock).
